To configure proxy server for a Wi-Fi network, please follow these steps :
- On your Redmi phone, find and launch the Settings app.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Tap
next to the Wi-Fi network ID you want to configure the proxy server.
- Tap None under Proxy settings, then tap Manual in the menu that opens.
- Enter the proxy server information.
- Tap OK.

Note: The steps here were written for Android 4.2.2 on a Redmi (HM1W). If you’re having a different model of Redmi or other version of Android, there’s a possibility that the steps and screenshots will be different.

As far as I understood, this proxy settings is only for HTTP (web) traffic. You can follow this guide to enter your proxy server and port info. When you use the Browser, you should get a prompt to enter the username and password.
