With the Call Waiting feature, when you’re on call and a second call comes in, you’ll hear a tone to let you know the second incoming call.
If you decide to answer this call, the first call will be put on hold automatically.
To turn on/off Call Waiting on your Redmi, please follow these steps :
- On your phone, find and launch the Phone app.
- Tap the Menu button.
- Select Settings.
- Tap Call settings.
- Tap Additional settings.
- If you have 2 SIM cards inserted, select one.
- Now, you can slide the Call waiting switch to the left (off) or right (on)
Note: The steps here were written for MIUI V5, based on Android 4.2.2 on a Redmi (HM1W). If you’re having a different model of Redmi or other version of MIUI/Android, there’s a possibility that the steps and screenshots will be different.

I don’t own a Redmi Note. As for Redmi, above are the correct steps to access the call waiting option. But note that you first have to launch the “Phone” app, then tap the Menu button > Settings in order to see the Call settings option.
If you still don’t get it, kindly post this question in the MIUI forum. I’m sure many Note users are willing to help.
