How to solve contacts not displayed in Whatsapp on your Xiaomi phone ?

If your contacts do no appear in the Select contact list, it’s most likely due to the Security app denying WhatsApp from accessing your contact list.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. On your phone, find and launch the Security app.
  2. Tap Permission > Manage App Permission > Contacts
  3. Find Whatsapp and ensure the permission is Allow. If not, just change it to Allow.

  4. Now, you can refresh the contact list in your WhatsApp.

Note: The steps here were written for MIUI V5, based on Android 4.2.2 on a Redmi (HM1W). If you’re having a different model of Redmi or other version of MIUI/Android, there’s a possibility that the steps and screenshots will be different.

  2. Mi 4i not displaying watsup contacts …tried all kinds of settings….plzzzz help

      • Solved….Thanks for replying….n ya when I use my scanner for reading bar code in x mi4i it just generates a code n then no detail is displayed…does that mean it is faulty???

        • Bar code usually gives you a code. You can try scan some QR codes that store texts, contact details or URLs to test your scanner app. You can easily get these codes by googling the images.
