If you accidentally removed the clock/weather widget on your primary home screen, here’s how to get it back:
- Pinch your fingers together on the primary home screen to switch to Edit mode.
- Tap Widgets.
- Find and tap Clock, and then select the 4 x 2 Clock widget.
- Tap the Home button to exit the Edit mode.
Note: The steps here were written for a Xiaomi device running MIUI V5. If you’re having a different version of MIUI, there’s a possibility that the steps and screenshots will be different.

I have a problem. I don’t know why but I was able to get the clock with the date and everything but it doesn’t show the weather, and it leaves the bottom part empty. Is there any way or setting to get the weather feature back?
Ethan says
Make sure you select the Weather clock widget instead of the Clock 4 x 2 widget.

While the screen might not be exactly the same, the steps should still work for your Redmi 2 running MIUI 6.

I have accidentally deleted messaging icon from the bottom tray of my home screen. I have checked in the settings-apps-running and it shows it is running but i could not find App icon in any of the menu so that I can drag it to home screen/ bottom tray. How can i create an icon of messaging app on the home screen
Ethan says
As far as I know one can’t really delete a system/default app unless your phone is rooted. Check out this thread. It seems like you need to do a factory reset to get back the Messaging app.

I have accidentally erase the clock/weather widgets in my home screen. I wanted to put them back again but in editing my home screen, i don’t see a clock widget on the bottom section of the editor. My unit is a Redmi 1s just bought 2 weeks ago.
Ethan says
I only own a Redmi, and the above steps are verified and still valid using the latest firmware.
Take note: Once you’re in the home screen Edit mode, tap Widgets and then flick left to look for Clock.
