How to link a contact with WhatsApp manually on Xiaomi phone running MIUI V5 ?

While you expect all your contacts on your phone will link with the WhatsApp contacts automatically, the phone isn’t perfect. Sometimes, you just have to do it manually. Here’s how:

1. On your Xiaomi phone, find and launch the Contacts app.
2. Find and tap the contact you want to link.
3. Tap Edit .
4. Tap the Menu button > Merge.
   
5. Find and select the WhatsApp contact you want to link.

If you no longer want them to be linked, you can do so. Here’s how:

1. On your Xiaomi phone, find and launch the Contacts app.
2. Find and tap the contact you want to unlink.
3. Tap Edit.
4. Scroll to the bottom, and hit Separate.
   

Note: The steps here were written for a Xiaomi device running MIUI V5. If you’re having a different version of MIUI, there’s a possibility that the steps and screenshots will be different.
