You can have as many home screens as you want on your Xiaomi phone, but there’s only one default or primary home screen.
Whenever you reload your phone or press the Home button, it will bring you straight to the primary home screen.
To change the primary home screen:
- Pinch any home screen using 3 fingers.
- Now, you’ll see a list of the home screens in thumbnail format.
- Tap the Home button
for the home screen you want it as the primary/default.
Tip: Here, you can also use the drag and drop method to rearrange the home screens.
Note: The steps here were written for a Xiaomi device running MIUI V5. If you’re having a different version of MIUI, there’s a possibility that the steps and screenshots will be different.

Nandeep, sorry to hear the issue you’re facing.
I don’t own a 1S. Frankly, I’ve no idea why is that happening to you. Kindly report this issue/bug in the MIUI forum.
