I’ve added some of my camera photos to the hidden album from the Gallery app. How do I access the hidden album on my Xiaomi Redmi 2 (MIUI 7)?

If you’ve added your photos to the (Mi Cloud) hidden album, here’s how to access them on your Xiaomi device:

  1. Open the Gallery app.
  2. Go to the Cloud tab.
  3. Swipe down on the screen.

  4. For the first time accessing the hidden album, you’ll be prompted to enter the lock screen PIN/Pattern/Password (if you’ve it enabled). After that, you’ll be asked to set an unlock pattern. Set your unlock pattern, and then enter it to access the hidden album.

Tip: You can also access the hidden album from Mi Cloud.

  1. I am unable to find the hided photos in mi cloud how can I access the hided images through mi cloud my mobile is mi max prime

    • You must first sign in your Mi account to your phone and make sure gallery sync is turned on. Then, go to the Gallery app > Albums tab, swipe down on the screen and enter/create your privacy protection password to access the Hidden album.

  2. Hello sir, i want to see my hidden album but i dont find cloud in my album. The choice are only photos and album. In the option that you show me, there are photos, offline, cloud and people. But i dont have it all. Can you tell me please how to see my hidden photos?

    • Sorry for the late reply. I’ve been away. Maybe you’ve already figured out the solution.

      Anyway, if your phone is running MIUI 8 (the latest MIUI version) you’ll NOT see the Cloud tab in the Gallery app. The Mi Cloud photos and local photos are consolidated into the Albums tab. To access the hidden album you can follow the steps below:

      1. Open the Gallery app.
      2. Swipe down on the screen to enter the Privacy protection password to open the hidden album.

  3. Hello sir, I have hide folder of images in file explorer of miui7…but when I access to inside them, I saw nothing..it’s deleted ..I want them back…plsss help me

    • When you hide folders or files in the Explorer app, they’re saved in the Private folder.

      Did you use the following steps to open the Private folder in the File Explorer app.

      1. Open the File Explorer app.
      2. Swipe down on the screen.
      3. Enter your password the Privacy Protection password.
      4. You should see the folders and photos here.

        • Did you hide them from the File Explorer or Gallery? If you’ve hidden them from the Gallery app, they won’t be available in the hidden folder in File Explorer. Instead, you can find the hidden photos by going to the Gallery app and swiping the Albums tab down.

          If you’ve hidden them from the File Explorer and your phone has a MicroSD card, make sure it’s not taken off from your phone. This is because the hidden and encrypted files are saved in the MicroSD card.
