How do I completely disable ads in Xiaomi MIUI 12?

Answer:
Here’s a quick guide to stop ads from popping up every now and then on your Xiaomi phones running the MIUI system. At the time of writing, the MIUI 12 is the latest version of the MIUI system.

i. Revoke MSA (MIUI System Ad Solution) authorization
  1. In the Settings, go to Password & security > Authorization & revocation
  2. Disable msa.

ii. Disable Personalized ads
  1. In the Settings, go to Password & security > Privacy > Ad services
  2. Disable Personalized ad recommendations.

iii. Disable ads in Mi Music

In Mi Music, tap the Menu icon (in the upper left corner) > Settings > Advanced settings, and turn off the Show ads option.

iv. Disable ads in File Manager

In File Manager, tap the three-horizontal-line Menu button > Settings > About, and turn off the Recommendations option.

v. Disable ads in Themes

In the Themes app, tap My page > Settings, and turn off the Show ads option.

vi. Disable ads in the Security app

In the Security app, tap the Gear button in the upper right corner, and turn off Receive recommendations

vii. Disable ads in the Cleaner app

In the Cleaner app, tap the Gear button in the upper right corner, and turn off Receive recommendations.

viii. Disable ads in Mi Browser

(Note: Mi Browser is only available on the old models of Xiaomi phones.)
In the Mi Browser, tap the Profile button in the lower right corner > Gear button > Advanced, and turn off Show ads.

ix. Disable ads in the Downloads app

In the Downloads app, tap the three-vertical-dot Menu button > Settings, and turn off Show recommended content.

x. Disable ads in Package installer

In the Google Play store, simply install an app or a game. After the installation, you should get an ad screen similar to the screenshot below. Here, tap the Gear button in the upper left corner and turn off Receive recommendations.

xi. Disable ads in Mi Fit

(Note: Mi Fit isn’t a pre-installed app. But, you do need this app to connect to your Mi Band.)
In the Mi Fit app, go to Profile > Settings, and turn off Personalized recommendations.

xii. Disable app recommendations in the More apps folder

Open the More apps folder, tap on the title More apps, and turn off Promoted apps.

xiii. Disable the trending searches in Search

Swipe up on a home screen to open the search screen, tap the G sign in the upper left corner > More > Settings > General, and turn off Autocomplete with trending searches.
