- It isn’t a heavy phone considering it packs a 5020mAh battery. The weight is noticeably lighter than my previous Redmi Note 9S and POCO X3 Pro.
- The back panel that gently curves towards the sides makes it nice to hold. Users who like to use phones case-free, take note.
- The frosted glass back minimizes smudges and fingerprints.
- A clear silicone case and screen protector (pre-installed) are included in the box for extra protection.
- Having an IR Blaster is nice, and with the pre-installed Mi Remote, I can use the phone as a universal remote.
- The phone supports both microSD expansion and dual SIM cards at the same time.
- The phone comes with an IP53 rating, which protects it from splashes of water.
- The low-profile Arc fingerprint sensor looks neat, and I found it to be fast at unlocking the phone.
Not so likes
- The two-step camera module at the back isn’t the nicest looking around.
- With or without the original case, the phone wobbles a lot if you touch the left side of the screen while it’s on a flat surface.
Display & Audio

- The 6.67″ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate is one of the best phone screens you can get in the mid-range.
- The display also comes with TUV Rheinland certification for low blue light emission and has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
- The display is viewable under direct sunlight. I had no issues playing Pokemon Go with this phone on a bright sunny afternoon.
- The stereo speakers sound pleasantly loud and clear. I had no problem hearing directions through this phone while having the car radio playing at a reasonable volume.
- And there’s also a headphone jack for me if I wish to listen to music privately.
Not so likes
- While the pinhole camera sits in the middle of the screen might be small in diameter, but it’s got a silvery ring that can be distracting at times.
Performance & battery
Likes
- The Snapdragon 732G processor offers decent performance. Coupled with 8GB of RAM, I didn’t notice any slowdowns in day-to-day use.
- The 5,020mAh battery lasted me more than a day on a single charge with regular usage.
- The 33W fast charging might not be the fastest in the industry within this price point. But, it’s good enough for me as I can top up the phone to about 46% in just 30 minutes.
- There were no heating issues when I tried playing heavy-duty games such as Fornite on this phone for as long as 2 hours, but it did get warm.
Not so likes
- No 5G support.

- Impressive camera setup (108MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide, 5MP tele-macro, and 2MP depth) for a phone at this price point. The 108MP main and 5MP tele-macro cameras are normally reserved for pricier phones.
- The picture quality is excellent in well-lit conditions. (See sample photos below)
- Low-light performance is pretty decent too.
- Macro shots are pretty nice with Auto Focus.
- Shooting and loading a 108Mp picture in the camera doesn’t take long at all.
- The 16MP front camera supports night mode and captures video at up to 1080p 30fps.
- There are tons of camera features: HDR, Night mode, Vlog mode, Dual-video mode, Beauty mode, slow-motion videos, 4K videos, Pro mode, Long exposure, Time-lapse, Clone mode, Document scanning, and more.
Not so likes
- There’s no optical image stabilization. And, the electronic image stabilization doesn’t support 4K video recording.
Others (OS, features …)

- Equipped with NFC, and an FM radio
Not so likes
- Some preloaded apps come with ads.
Verdict
Exceptional value for money as you get a great screen, good processor, long battery life, and a solid camera for around USD 260. You consider this phone if you don’t need 5G support.
