Can I mute message notifications of certain contacts on Redmi Note 4?

There are a lot of messages from not so important people. I don’t want to block them but at the same time I don’t want to get notified when the messages are coming from them (not many actually). Is it a way to mute the message notifications from these few people. I know samsung phone can do so from my brother. How about mi phone?
