Can I unlock without pressing OK on my Galaxy S8?

Unfortunately, you can’t remove the step of tapping OK if you’re using a PIN to unlock.
Fortunately, there are other faster ways to unlock your Galaxy S8 such Pattern – draw the right pattern and your phone will be unlocked, Fingerprint, iris and face scan.

I switched from iPhone. There are times I forgot to press the OK button, and was wondering why my phone suddenly hung. If anyone knows how to disable the OK button for PIN code, please share.

This is really starting to annoy me into an IPhone, it’s almost as bad as having to push the little green phone ICON after selecting a contact you thought you were going to call. Sucks.

When I switched from iPhone to Galaxy S8, I found the tapping of OK a bit annoying, but got used to it over the time.
If you look up a contact you want to call, just simply swipe right on it. No need to tap the contact first and then the green phone icon.

Funny, not required on my Note 8. Not sure what is so different. Although the OK is there, after just entering the PIN, phone unlocks.

I found an option to disable it on the Note 8 but when I tried to find it again to help a friend with his S8 I couldn’t find it again on either phone. So frustrating. It’s definitely there on the Note though – I remember stumbling upon it and being excited about it

Found it! Settings, lock screen and security, screen lock type, Pin and you should see a tick box to disable to need to touch ok

Just fyi, this option doesn’t exist on the s8. At least, not I the current software version.

I finally got the ‘Confirm PIN without tapping OK’ option after updating to Android Oreo on the PIN setting screen. For those who don’t see it, you can try going to the device’s Settings > Lock screen and security > Screen lock type to reset a new PIN.

You should see the ‘Confirm PIN without tapping Ok’ option on the screen where you enter a new PIN.
