Change the icon label from white to black on my Galaxy S8

After changing the wallpaper to one of my favorite picture, I can hardly see the icon labels. Anyway to change the label color to something else other than white? Locked

There’s no option to change the icon label color. But, I noticed that the label color will change automatically based on the wallpaper you set. When you set a white wallpaper, the label color will change to black, and when you set a dark colored wallpaper, the label color will become white. If the label color doesn’t change automatically, the next best alternative is that you can change the theme. Change to a theme that offers the label color you want and then set your wallpaper again. I don’t have an answer, I just wanted to say that I agree with you. I also thought that for the price of this phone, it would have more keyboard choices. The font doesn’t change colors automatically and i really don’t want to change my wallpaper. But it is annoying. Marked as spam

Works: S8….Settings > accessibility > vision > scroll down to “high contrast fonts” and turn it to on. Marked as spam

You are all very welcome! Glad I could help someone. I don’t usually post in forums, but it was driving me crazy too, not to be able to read the light colored lettering. Marked as spam

thanks for the tip, Anonymous, I found an option that may help, that I can live with. Galaxy S8….Settings > accessibility > vision > scroll down to “high contrast fonts” and turn it to on. This puts a black outline around each letter in the name of the label. It makes it easier to see on my light colored back ground. VERY GOOD! Marked as spam

Got the same problem after updates this week (contacts list was black versus dark wallpaper). Before could see the letters, now – not ? to resume – it also works on dark letters and dark wallpapers ! (Happy) Marked as spam

I agree with Olive. For the price of this phone, it is embarrassing how little flexibility it has. And it is absolutely non-intuitive. We have to go to forums to learn how to use it (or, really, to learn that we cannot do want we want). This is my third android and second Samsung. It will be my last. Marked as spam
