Deleting photos on Redmi 5 Plus

This could a simple newbie question. Why can’t I find the photos in Mi Cloud after deleting the photos on my Redmi 5?

Those photos on your phone are synced with Mi Cloud. When you delete the photos on your phone will also be deleted in Mi Cloud.
