How not to overwrite the original photo after editing on the Samsung Galaxy phones?

Saving the edited photo with the built-in photo editor will overwrite the original photo. How to stop that? I need to keep the original photo as well.

After editing a photo with the photo editor in the Gallery app, you can tap the three-vertical-dot Menu button > Save as copy

If you have already overwritten the original photo, you can edit the photo again and tap the Revert option to get back the original photo.
