How to enable repeat notifications for unread messages on Galaxy S7?

To turn on repeat (unread) message alerts on your Galaxy S7 Edge, follow these steps:

1. From your device’s Settings, tap Accessibility > Notification reminder.
2. Slide the switch to the on position.
3. You can then change the reminder interval if you want.
4. Make sure the switch beside the Messages app is turned on.

I have the Galaxy S 7 Edge and i cant find Notification Reminder in my settings. However, I do have the Notifications turned On.

I have followed these instructions exactly. The notification reminder is ON – and I also set the reminder time to 3 minutes. I do get the original text notification but not the reminder. I’ve only had this phone for 2 months – the feature used to work when I first got it but a few weeks ago it stopped working even though the settings seem to be correct.

Just upgraded from S5 Active to S7 Active and i no longer get the new message reminders anymore. I followed the instructions above as well and it still does not work. I now only get the original new message notification and no follow-ups if I can’t read it right away. This was a huge feature that now appears to be gone or broken….

I bought an S7 Edge in March. The notification reminder worked. I had to replace the phone in November, got another S7 Edge, and now the reminder doesn’t work?

Make sure you have the notifications turn on for the apps you want to receive repetitive notifications. You can double check this by following the steps below:

1. From the device’s Settings menu, tap Notifications.
2. Make sure the switches next to the apps you want to be alerted repetitively are in the on position.

Just did some tests – the notification reminder is still working fine for missed calls, messages and WhatsApp on my unit (International model).

This just does not work on my S7 Edge. All repeat settings for sms are ON! Just does not repeat. Dec 2016

I have the same problem. Have followed all the steps above but no reminder beeps for anything (and I have those apps turned on). I have a Galaxy S7

Oops. Now I;m getting the notification sound repeating even after I have checked the message. Annoying. Be careful what you wish for. Lol

My husband and I both bought S7’s 2 weeks ago. We have both tried all the steps above and we still are not receiving our message repeats. Any other suggestions?

Ok, hubby figured it out. We had done everything mentioned above. BUT, you also have to go to:
-Sounds and vibrations
-Notification sounds
-turn on Default notification sound, you can pick the same sound as your incoming or set a different sound for you reminder.
