When I’m using full screen gestures on my POCO X3, I can’t swipe left to right twice on the app drawer to get into the “hide app” mode. It always sends me back to the home screen. Did I do anything wrong here?

Instead of double swiping from the left edge to the center at the bottom of half of the screen, try doing the same gesture at the upper half of the screen.

Yes, in the full screen mode, swiping from the left edge to right on the upper half of the screen will open the Hide app mode, while swiping from the left (or right) edge at the bottom half is the back function.
