Assuming you’re talking about unlocking your phone screen lock, you can use either your password or fingerprint to unlock your phone.

If you’ve forgotten the password and you didn’t register your fingerprint, then you’ll need to factory reset your phone to reset the lock screen password. As far as I know, it doesn’t seem to have any other ways to reset a forgotten screen lock password at this moment.
