You mean the keyboard icon that allows you to change the keyboard?

If you’re using the (virtual) navigation bar, you’ll see the keyboard button in the left side of the navigation bar.

If you’re using only the off-screen navigation button, then you should see the keyboard button in the status bar whenever you’re in a text input area.
